The IT industry is growing explosively. Technology advancements reduce design limitations. It is also related to dimension of products. At the same time, the engineers collaborate with industrial designers better than ever before. The designers also started to thinking about "how to use minimal space for better product layout."
It's more about advanced design for the future. In this day and age, design needs industrial designers to help now more than ever. In the past 100 years, maybe more than 100 years, designers had experienced many type of designs. It was more about design and fashion trends. However, since the second Industrial Revolution, industrial designers and engineers tried to avoid making products look mechanical. Just think about the design of nowadays, many consumers want to incorporate designs into their environment and home. For example, people wanted to hide wires from devices to give it a clean look, so they designed the Bluetooth for wireless devices.  Another example is when people wanted to hide TV from their own house, the TV "The Frame" from Samsung is on the market. It looks extremely like a "frame."

This design also started from people's desire. I thought about my portable SSD. Since newest USB driver has big enough storage more than 1TB already. It has topped my SSD storage number. There is a need for a paradigm shift. People do not carry their big old HDD and SSD to their workplace or school. They carry the thumb size of USB driver instead of them. I thought about next portable SSD . I guess nobody want to carry this device to home and workplace. It will stay one of your place be one with environment. I was found something that always staying on the desk.

That's a pencil holder. So I designed this SSD as pencil holder. It has a quite simple design and it's done by injection mold with walnut wood and fine textured plastic. 5 color options for plastic version as Forest green, Teal green, Olympic blue, Grey, Scarlet red.
